Jaisalmer Sightseeing

At a distance of 1.5 km from Jaisalmer Railway Station, Jaisalmer Fort locally known as Sonar Quila (Golden Fort) is located in the heart of Jaisalmer city. It is one of the largest forts in the world and also one of the biggest forts in India to visit as part of Rajasthan tour packages. Jaisalmer Fort is a World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO under the group Hill Forts of Rajasthan.

In Jaisalmer city, you must see the havelis. These havelis are huge mansions, and you can see so many of them, if you go walking at a short distance from Jaisalmer Fort.

Nathmal ki Haveli is one of the most beautiful havelis you will see in Jaisalmer. It was built in the 19^th century by two architect brothers, who built two havelis independently.

Bada Bagh, also called Barabagh is a garden complex located about six kilometers north of Jaisalmer in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Overlooking a mango grove sits a set of royal chhatri cenotaphs constructed by the Maharajas of the Jaisalmer State in the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries CE.

Kuldhara is an abandoned village in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, India. Established around the 13th century, it was once a prosperous village inhabited by Paliwal Brahmins. It was abandoned by the early 19th century for unknown reasons, possibly because of dwindling water supply, or as a local legend claims, because of the atrocities by the Jaisalmer State's minister Salim Singh.

Situated at a distance of around 40 km from Jaisalmer (Rajasthan), Desert National Park is counted amongst the largest parks of India. Geographically, this park covers an area of 3162 sq. km extending from the borders of Jaisalmer, the park boundary reaches close to the Indo-Pak border.
